Today we have another vacation cottage located in the same area, on an ancient lava field, but in this case the architect seems to have been inspired by Iceland’s volcanoes. The cottage has a symmetrical design consisting of two steep-sided pyramids positioned corner to corner. The pyramids are joined by a single-storey entrance hall. One pyramid is the open living space with kitchen, sitting and dining areas. Triangular corner windows mirror the room’s shape. The other pyramid is the sleeping wing. The song in the video is aptly named "Connected" and is composed by my dear friend and composer Pétur Jónsson at Anthemico Records. http://anthemico.com/ The song was originally composed for a beautiful short film for Amnesty International, about the connection between the refugees that have made Iceland their home and us Icelanders, and to remind us of the current refugee situation around the world. The original video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BHyLNblb-8 More peo...
Do not dream. Look at the facts. The return of real estate is in the long run very lousy. After inflation you should not expect a lot of return. Because real estate has a lot of costs- such as the upkeep, the wear and tear. The most valuable part of real estate is usually not the land, but the building. And the building needs expensive upkeep. When you invest in real estate put down a nice chunk at the beginning. I recommend at least 20 or 30 percent equity.
